Americanism/Heritage – Bonnie Miertschin
Purpose: to inspire respect for the American flag and our country. Committee chair leads members in the U.S. and Texas Pledges at events, properly displays flag at meetings and stores flag when not in use. Educates members and community about flag etiquette.
Awards and Campaign Hours – Sally Pryor
Purpose: to encourage club to participate in the TFRW and NFRW Excellence awards programs and the TFRW Campaign Hours Awards. Keeps records of members’ qualifying campaign volunteer hours and activities and submits awards paperwork.
Bylaws – Patty Moncus
Purpose: to ensure that the KCRW Bylaws are current and comply with the requirements of the TFRW and the NFRW.
Campaign Activities - Sally Pryor
Purpose: to coordinate campaign activities and help elect Republicans to office. Keeps club up to date with information regarding candidates, campaign schedules, platforms, and headquarters. Organizes volunteers for Republican Headquarters, attends area Campaign Management Schools, and helps set up “Meet the Candidates” forum. Works as the club contact for Republican candidates.
Community Activities and Caring for America Chairman – Pat Scrivano
Purpose: to identify community needs; select one or more projects that are within KCRW capability to accomplish and present recommendations to the membership for approval; encourage volunteerism and private sector initiatives as important objectives; and, keep volunteers interested and motivated through "contests" and incentives.
Chaplain – Jana Rogers
Responsible for the Invocation at all meetings.
Purpose: to be keep an account of the official activities which may include: a list of officers and committees; events and information about those events; awards; Federation activities that members participated in; photographs; and, year-end membership totals.
Hostess/Special Events – Jann Turnbow
Purpose: Reserves the location for the Lincoln Day and Back to School Luncheons; making appropriate arrangements and decorations; negotiates costs; and, recruits other members to participate in Special Event activities.
Legislation & Hotline – Besa Martin
Purpose: Since TFRW does not lobby as an organization, teaches members how they, as individuals, can stay current and lobby effectively. One must work to keep abreast of current legislation, particularly when both the Texas Legislature and the U. S. Congress are in session.
Library/Literacy - Sharon Welch
Purpose: to select an appropriate book for presentation to each public library in Kendall County; coordinate with TFRW and NFRW to meet requirements so that the donation will quality for awards programs; and work with the Publicity Chair to prepare a press release about the presentation including a picture.
Membership - Amy Prichard
Purpose: to recruit, encourage and mentor new members.
Memorials – Lorrie Agold-Rich
Purpose: to send Sympathy Cards and Get Well Cards to KCRW members and others as directed by the President on an as needed basis.
Program – Barbara Larson
Work closely with the VP regarding all the logistics for the meetings. Some speakers require you work with someone on their staff for all the details regarding their presentation. Ensure speaker has all the necessary equipment needed for their presentation. Provide speaker the details of the meeting as well as exact amount of time given for the presentation. Prepare BIO to introduce the Speaker.
Newsletter – Kerrie Williams
Purpose: to reach all KCRW members with information the club; current activities; and, upcoming plans. Write and distribute special announcement flyers as needed.
Publicity - Sally Pryor
Purpose: Responsible for KCRW’s public face. Contact person for KCRW with the media. Publicize KCRW meetings and any special events.
Senior Americans – Linda Quick
Purpose: Develop programs which demonstrate KCRW commitment to Senior Americans. Make information on senior issues such as taxes, future planning, legal counsel, insurance, assisted living, nursing homes, health care, Medicare and Medicaid available to members and the public.
Telephone – Nancy White
Purpose: Notify members of meetings, events and special information by KCRW President. Members may request to be called and/or be those members without emails.
Voter Registration – Bennye Waskom
Purpose: Encourage voter education programs; coordinate voter registration drives to register all potential voters within Kendall County who agree with the Republican philosophy; deputize club members as volunteer deputy registrars if possible; remind parents that 18 year olds can register to vote; and, remind parents and others of Early Voting options.
Ways and Means – Mary Himlin
Purpose: Hold a Silent Auction at both the Lincoln Day and Back to School Luncheons; explore the ideas, interests and talents within KCRW to involve members in fundraising events and efforts; and, clear fundraising activities with local, state and federal regulations and taxes.
Yearbook/Directory – Norma Duncan
Purpose: Coordinate with the Membership to compile contact information for KCRW members in all categories; coordinate with the Legislative to compile the contact information for elected officials in districts serving KCRW membership; compile and print a membership directory and include names and phone numbers of TFRW and Club officers, local officials and members; and distribute by the May Meeting.
Youth Activities – CJ Steen
Purpose: Encourage teens and young women to join and become active members of KCRW; seek opportunities for young people to be involved in the political process; and, encourage the formation of a Teen-Age Republican Club in Kendall County.
